Queen Mary is an independent day school for approximately 500 girls aged 11 to 18 with adjacent co-educational Juniors and Infant & Nursery Schools for 3 to 10 year olds. It is situated on a superb 13-acre site overlooking the Irish Sea between Lytham and St Annes.
CURRICULUM: Queen Mary School provides girls with a broad programme of rigorous academic study as well as a wide variety of other activities which enable each girl to make the most of her talents, fostering independence and high standards. At Sixth form level, where a wide range of subjects are available, most girls follow three subjects plus General Studies before going on to take up places at University.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES: An Open Scholarship (value 50% of fees) is offered on the results of the 11+ Entrance Examination and a Music Scholarship is available for a candidate under 14 years of age. Foundation Bursaries are also awarded at 11+. Scholarships available at Sixth Form.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Normally by examination at 11+ although places are sometimes available at other age groups. Entry to the Sixth Form for suitably qualified candidates is by interview.
